In the segregation era, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Count Basie played Miami Beach, then came here to stay the night and play again, and the clubs earned it the name the Harlem of the South. Jackson Soul Food has been frying catfish since 1946. Some institutions do not move.
