The village hall is a real log cabin. Dade County pine, put up during the Depression with federal relief labor and donated materials, total out-of-pocket cost 247 dollars, and the commission still meets in it. The streets loop around planted medians because founder Arthur Griffing was a nurseryman who laid the place out like a garden. Griffing Boulevard still carries his name. More green than pavement.
